Catching Up With Malaysia Madani: USIA’s Nationwide Tour Boosts Understanding and Acceptance

The Malaysia Madani concept introduced by the government is now being increasingly understood and accepted by the multi-racial society, particularly in the state of Sabah. The President of All-Sabah Islamic Organization (USIA), Datuk Sapawi Ahmad, attributed this to the organization’s Forum Malaysia Madani tour program held across the country over the past year. Datuk Sapawi said the concept was introduced by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in 1986 before he became Prime Minister again. He emphasized the need for society to understand the concept and realize it in the social, political, economic, and life contexts to build a civilized society.
